An EVENT for Book 16!!
Hello lovely everyone!
I’ve been deep in my writing cave since FanWing Fest last year (I have written you so many things! but none of those things were blogs! and I have so many more things still to write ack!) — but I’m popping out for a minute because I have a couple of quick time-sensitive things to share! 😊
First, Wings of Fire Book 16: The Hybrid Prince is coming out very soon (eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I hope you guys like it!) and I am venturing ALL the way out of my cave to do a launch party with High Five Books in Northampton, MA! I am SO EXCITED! First of all because they are such an incredibly lovely, sweet, awesome bookstore, and second of all because I hope you can come join me to celebrate!
The event will be from 4-6pm on Saturday, March 7th, at the Academy of Music (274 Main St. in Northampton) and you can find out more, get tickets, and pre-order the book by clicking here or on the image below:
But if you are not in the Northeast/MA area, don’t worry, there is more event news coming soon! We wanted to announce everything all at once but couldn’t for reeeeeasons, so STAY TUNED and I promise I will let you know as soon as we can! (Most likely first on my Events page and Instagram and then hopefully via blog and newsletter!)
(Also sidebar: my ONLY social media presence is on Instagram, so don’t believe it if anyone is claiming to be me anywhere else!) 😊 (Can you imagine; I barely have the bandwidth to almost never post on Instagram—I’m definitely not adding anything else soon!) (And if I do, I will post about it here on my super official blog first!)
OK, so come to Northampton if you can, or hang tight for news about APRIL and MAY and JUNE, or you can also stay home and read Book 16 in your pyjamas in just five weeks (eeeeep!)!

front of something that is definitely not the Sydney
Opera House oh my goodness you funny people
The second time-sensitive thing! Is a Publishing for Minnesota auction raising money to support organizations providing legal aid, emergency assistance, food, and community resources to those in urgent need in Minnesota. It’s happening for just two days — it closes at 11:45pm on Friday, January 29 — so there’s only a short amount of time to bid on lots of awesome things (including AMAs with Alvina Ling or Connie Hsu, who are both incredible editors of amazing books, for any of you writer/editor hopefuls out there!):
Check it out here: https://www.32auctions.com/publishingforMN — I didn’t manage to submit anything in time for this one, but lots of my favorite authors did! (Becky Albertalli! Dhonielle Clayton! Vicky Fang! Gale Galligan! Ali Hazelwood! Molly Idle! Amitha Knight!) (And awwmygoodness, adorable illustrations of Leafpaw and Squirrelpaw for Warriors fans!)
Or their front page also has a great list of places to donate to, if you’re just looking for ways to help! 😊 I also want to shout out the Red Balloon Bookshop in Saint Paul, who were so so wonderful about hosting FanWing Fest last year — they’re holding a book drive with Community Aid Network MN for kids who are currently staying home from school — if you’re looking for a way to help kids and support a lovely bookstore at the same time!
In other Wings of Fire news, there have been TWO new WoF graphic novels in the last couple of months:

with art by Jake Parker

with art by Mike Holmes
They are both so beautiful and I adore Mike and Jake — I love these and can’t wait for you to see what they’re both doing next!
Also, coming February 3rd there is a NEW Winglets short story (Hero!) available on ebook (and audiobook, I think!):

It’s from Prince Cliff’s point of view so I think/hope it’s the most cheerful Winglet so far, and also answers some questions about his dad and Ruby! 😊
More soon! Sending you all so many hugs!
Some Splendid Books I’ve Read and Loved Recently:
I loooooved The Summer War by Naomi Novik; she is one of my favorite writers in the world, and this was short and perfect and made me cry (in a good way!).

Kwame Mbalia writes such awesome, action-packed, funny books, and he’s also one of the nicest, coolest authors around — I highly recommend both his Jax Freeman series and his Tristan Strong books!
