The Dragonet Prophecy

Wings of Fire: Book 1

The Dragonet Prophecy

Imagine you were stolen from your family.

Imagine you were raised by someone who didn’t love you, didn’t understand you, and didn’t care to try.

Imagine this has happened because someone thinks you have a destiny.

Imagine there is a war raging outside, and according to a mysterious prophecy, only you and your four friends can stop it.  Although nobody seems to know exactly how you’re going to do that.

This is your fate.  Imagine you have no choice.

Or do you?

Oh, and p.s.  You’re a dragon.

Specifically, Clay is a MudWing — that’s the big, burly, hippo-eating tribe who live in the swamps and marshes.  He’s not the smartest dragon under the mountain.  He’s not the most ferocious.  He is the biggest, so everyone keeps telling him he’s got to be tough and he’s got to be scary—like your tall friend who everyone says should be on the basketball team, only in this case it’s more like, hey, you look like you’d be good at saving the world.

But what Clay lacks in skills he makes up in loyalty.  He’s sweet and protective of his friends.  He’s the dragonet who’ll share his extra cow at dinnertime, or risk drowning in order to save you when the Talons of Peace decide you’re expendable.

So when his friends decide it’s time to escape their underground home, it’s up to Clay to keep them together and keep them safe.  He hopes there’s a better home waiting for him back in the swamps of the MudWings, if only he can get there.

But he also knows that the dragons of Pyrrhia are counting on them to stop the war.  It’s their fate.  And who else is going to do it?

If you were a dragonet of destiny…what would you do?
