What Secrets Are Hidden in the Marvelous COVER OF BOOK 6?
Hello wonderful readers!
I cannot believe I’m going to be out on tour in just over a week. Flying on airplanes! Talking at schools! Dressing nicely EVERY day (oh my GOODNESS the hardship!)! But best of all, meeting you guys! SUPER CRAZY EXCITING!
I’m still adding whatever I know is happening to my Events page, and I’ll hopefully post another update on the tour soon, but I actually wanted to blog today to share the insanely beautiful cover for Wings of Fire Book 6: Moon Rising!
(I might have cropped that a little bit wrong, but you get the idea!) 🙂
I’m guessing some of you have seen it already, elsewhere on the Internet, but here’s the final official version (as far as I know!). I think it’s so glorious! And here’s the full cover art (happy sigh):
Oooo, so what can you figure out just from looking at this? Clearly the main dragon is a NightWing (which I’ve already told you) . . . but where is she? And who’s that on the back? What kind of dragon is he? Let the speculation begin! 🙂
In other news, I did an absolutely lovely, super-fun Skype visit with the La’ie Young Writers Group in Hawaii — they asked such GREAT questions, both about book 6 and about Wings of Fire overall! It made me realize I’m going to have to be very stern with myself about spoilers on this book tour, because my natural inclination is to tell you EVERYTHING that happens in book 6! But of course I don’t want to ruin it for you. So I will have to practice my Extremely Mysterious Face and Evasive Non-Answering. All shall be revealed in time…, etc., mwa ha ha, that won’t drive anyone crazy or anything.
I also recently got to see Rainbow Rowell (one of my favorite authors of all time) on her tour for her newest book, Landline. I was sort of hoping I could take notes on her talk that would help me with my book tour, but I’m afraid the most helpful note I can think of is basically “Be Rainbow Rowell,” because she was AMAZING. I was already in love with her writing, and now I am also fully in love with her. If you ever get a chance to hear HER speak, definitely go do that!
OK, I’m going to post this now and save the rest of my yammering so I can do a couple more blogs before the tour, and then hopefully a few blogs WHILE on tour (thrilling madness!).
Hooray for beautiful covers!
Quote of the Day: “That was what I wanted to ask you,” said Pooh. “Because my spelling is Wobbly. It’s good spelling, but it Wobbles, and the letters get in the wrong places.” — Winnie-the-Pooh, by A. A. Milne
(I might just use Winnie-the-Pooh quotes for the next few blogs, since they are delightful and that would save me some quote-searching time!) 🙂
