All Right, Call Off the Hounds, I’m Here :-)
Hi everyone!
The Very Serious Business of Sitting in the Playground Pig
I know, I’m TERRIBLE. I’ve ABANDONED this blog for WEEKS! And I’m not even in crazy first-draft mode anymore; I’m in crazy revision mode, which I’ll admit is usually less overwhelming. AND YET . . . no blog. Which is not to say I don’t have excuses. Of course I have excuses! But I’ll save them for another time when I can tell you more about them. 🙂
Instead I figured I’d give you some Adorable Toddler Photos and hope that helps everyone forgive me (yay!). :-) :-) 🙂
Question the First: Who invented Touch-a-Truck events, and have they been awarded some kind of medal yet?
WHEEE! I’m the greatest truck driver in the world!
OK, nobody talk to me; I have a lot of popping to do.
(Question the Second: Who invented HAYRIDES, and can we KNIGHT THEM, please? I’ve never seen a child so enchanted with sitting on a bale of hay and being pulled around by a tractor. We’re currently on a mission to hit every hayride in driving distance before the end of October. Oh, you think I’m joking. HAYRIDES ARE NO JOKE, PEOPLE.)
Requisite Adorable Pumpkin Patch Photos:
October, it turns out, is the greatest month of the year, at least in terms of tremendously exciting activities for children around every corner. Harvest festivals galore! Gorgeous weather and spectacular trees! Petting zoos and hayrides and free pumpkins and ponies and CIDER DOUGHNUTS! I mean, seriously. Could it please be October forever?
Officially Possibly The Cutest Thing I’ve Ever Seen:
Jonah and his best friend holding hands
Which, mind you, they figured out themselves and were so cutely pleased with themselves about. AWWMYGOODNESSMELT. Jonah has the sweetest, most wonderful little friends; I would seriously talk about them all the time, except I should get permission from all their parents first, and I imagine it’s possible not everyone wants to be immortalized on an author blog at the age of one. 😉
His new cousin is only a week old, though, which is an inevitable time for online photo overload, so he doesn’t get to complain:
Speaking of ridiculously adorable!
Welcome to the world, little nephew! :-) :-) :-) I’m an aunt! So so exciting!
I hope you’ve all had a marvelous September and October, and that you’re all ready for Halloween. I also hope we can get Jonah in his monster costume long enough to take a photo of it! Fingers crossed! And more blogs soon, hopefully, assuming I can think of anything to say.
Oh, but I will leave you with these thoughts from Lemony Snicket on the Occupy Wall Street protests, particularly this one:
Quote of the Day: “Money is like a child—rarely unaccompanied. When it disappears, look to those who were supposed to be keeping an eye on it while you were at the grocery store. You might also look for someone who has a lot of extra children sitting around, with long, suspicious explanations for how they got there.” – Lemony Snicket
