EXPLODING BEARS!!! (Ew, not literally, gross.)
Set your DVR’s!!!!!!!!!!!!! I promised to give you a heads up, and here it is!
This FRIDAY MORNING, the amazing and fabulous Victoria Holmes will be on the Today show on NBC, representing the Erin Hunter team, to talk about SEEKERS: The Quest Begins, as it is the newest book chosen for their children’s book club! YAAYYYYY!!!!!! Yes, this is the one I wrote, and I can’t wait to see Vicky talk about how she came up with the idea to do bears next after cats (the Warriors series). Vicky on TV!! YIPPEE!!!
(And if you’re in NYC, you can see Vicky in person at Books of Wonder on Friday between 5 and 7pm. Do it! Go see her! She is splendiferous!) 🙂
I would love to get up and watch the show in real time, but I have just discovered (through extensive online research) that it starts at 7am!! Holy bananas! Suddenly I have newfound respect for morning show hosts. SO EARLY! Are you kidding me? I think Vicky won’t be on until after 8:30am, but even that sounds to me like a challenge akin to climbing Mount Everest. Barefoot. With a meerkat on your head. Hmmmmm.
Man, I didn’t even know there was any TV on that early. By the time I go to bed, it’s usually infomercials. Er, not that I would know, since I am writing at 5am, not watching TV, no sir. 😉
Well, maybe I’ll get up, watch it, and go back to bed. Especially because I have developed some kind of Horrendous Deathly Flu Death Plague all of a sudden. It mercifully held off until after our college reunion this past weekend, but now it’s sprawling around grouchily taking up all the space in my head. Space I am supposed to be using on a manuscript! An imminently due manuscript! Ack!
So I’m afraid it has to be a short blog this week, but guess what? That Seekers book I just mentioned? Oh, it’s on the New York Times bestseller list! YES IT IS! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Scroll down to Chapter Books and look for The Quest Begins. Number three! Look what we did! SO EXCITING! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy BEARS!
And yay all you Warriors fans for buying the book! I hope everyone likes it! It is much darker than my other books (yes, I think it’s even darker than my post-apocalyptic books!), but that is the Erin Hunter way, and there are certainly lots of readers who love it! If you’ve gotten as far as the Warriors: Power of Three series, you know what I mean. 🙂
So I will leave you with another photo of Sunshine, taken while we were walking the Freedom Trail a couple weekends ago. Yes! Now we have Done The Freedom Trail! All we need is a truckload of Red Sox paraphernalia, and we’ll be, like, real Bostonians! Right? Isn’t that how it works? ;-) Here we are at the Granary Burying Ground:
I carried Sunshine all through this cemetery because I figured it probably wouldn’t go over very well if she peed on Paul Revere’s grave. Not that she would, of course, being a very historically respectful little dog, but if she did I imagine we’d be thrown out of the state or something. Don’t you think?
And here we are making sure Sunshine doesn’t get too much sunshine at Faneuil Hall. Hey, Mom! Look! HAT! 🙂
All right, off I go to negotiate with the Death Flu for a couple of hours of writing time. More next week! And don’t forget to watch Vicky on Today! Bears bears bears!
Quote of the Day:
Joey: None of this matters. It’s a moo point.
Rachel: A moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It’s like a cow’s opinion: it doesn’t matter. It’s moo!
