And where are my doughnuts?

It’s my BIRTHDAY!

Yaaaayyyy BIRTHDAY!

It is also: Harry Potter’s birthday! AND: the birthday of Juliet from Romeo and Juliet, which a clever boyfriend of mine once figured out.

AND: it is J.K. Rowling’s birthday! (Which I think is smart, because you’ll definitely remember your main character’s birthday if it’s the same as your own.)

So I think I’m in very good company.

It’s weird because I used to work in offices where I could drop hints about my birthday for months beforehand, giving my alert officemates ample warning to show up with doughnuts or cake (or, if they were feeling mysterious, bagels, which in my opinion are too much like breakfast and not enough like dessert, not that I’d ever say no to any food, of course, except peas). Offices are great for lots of lovely birthday celebrating, since most people will seize any opportunity to come out from behind a desk and eat cupcakes.

But my only current officemate apparently alertly slept through all my hints, since Sunshine produced neither doughnuts nor cake today. Tsk tsk! She did, however, produce extreme cuteness, and I am allegedly eating nothing but carrots and blueberries until the wedding anyway (<– LIES!), so I’m letting her off the hook.

For my birthday present, I let myself watch the finale of Doctor Who season two (the current version, not the original), which I have been saving for like a YEAR, and I don’t know if it was really the best present ever because I cried and cried and cried oh my GOODNESS beautiful and sad! Poor lonely Doctor Who.

And for the rest of my birthday, I am writing writing writing, because of the aforementioned imminently due manuscript, so I have had Adam literally hide Harry Potter 7 from me, and I have reverted to an entirely nocturnal schedule (I might actually see Adam get up for work tomorrow as I’m going to bed), and I’m not talking to anyone, aaaand I’m afraid I am only posting this tiny short boring blog today. The manuscript is a-hollerin’ at me! Only six days to go! I’m including Tuesday because it’s not even 1am yet as I write this – there’s oodles of writing time left tonight! If I stop blogging and go do it, anyway. So here I go. Wish me luck! By the next blog, it should be all turned in! Eeeep eeep hooray!
