HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

In celebration of presents and eggnog and presents and family and presents and pine trees and presents, as promised, here’s…a baby pandapalooza!

Most of these are of Tai Shan, the baby panda at the DC Zoo, whose name means "peaceful mountain."

He lives in a big bamboo-filled pen with his mother, Mei Xiang, whose name means "beautiful fragrance" (hmmm…color me skeptical).

and…baby panda butt!

These next two are actually Baby Panda’s dad, Tian-Tian, which means "more and more" (cute!).

(and if you’re wondering why, it’s because deliiiiiiicious bamboo comes through that window now and then. Baby Panda’s mom can go over and pull it through the window if she feels like it, at which point Baby Panda tries to climb up her back and tugs on her fur and clambers on her legs and generally makes an adorable nuisance of himself until he gets some. Awwwww.)
